Red Silk

It was this old postcard that inspired me to realize the above red halter neck silk top adorned by a band of sequins and its skirt.
I think halter neck top with open back is one of the first modern form of lady's lingerie, something can be worn underneath outerwear to protect their busts and therefore create an intimate sense for this special garment.
However, in this postcard circa 1900, the two women wore these halter tops to work. They were carrying sand. I find them beautiful and determined at the same time.
